Office of the Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement

While “advancement” is a fairly new term, careers in this burgeoning area are gaining in popularity.  In fact, U.S. News and World Report listed “fundraiser” among its Best Careers for 2008. Many universities are either starting campaigns or are in the middle of one. A number of colleges now offer degrees or certificates in non-profit management. Plus, you can achieve certification through the Association of Fundraising Professionals. And while the door is wide open for those with advancement experience, growth in the field has created opportunities for those interested in joining the profession.
